Sad news came from the world of Indonesian football. A total of 180 Arema FC (Aremania) supporters died.
The chaos that occurred at the Kanjuruhan Stadium in Malang occurred after the Arema FC vs. Persebaya Surabaya match on Saturday, October 1, 2022.

It is suspected that hundreds of Arema FC supporters died while trying to get out of Kanjuruhan Stadium, Malang.
According to the Head of the Malang Regency Health Office (Dinkes), Wiyanto Wijoyo, on Sunday, October 2, 2022, 180 people died.
Meanwhile, 191 Arema FC supporters are still being treated at the hospital due to their injuries.
On the other hand, the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, expressed his condolences for the deaths of hundreds of Arema FC supporters .
Jokowi has also asked the Minister of Health and the Governor of East Java to directly monitor medical services for the victims.
"I have asked the Minister of Health and the Governor of East Java to specifically monitor medical services for victims who are in hospital so that they can immediately get the best service." said Jokowi .
"I have also ordered the Minister of Youth and Sports, the National Police Chief, and the general chairman of PSSI to conduct a thorough evaluation of the implementation of football matches and also the security procedures for their implementation." added Jokowi .
"Especially for the National Police Chief, I ask for an investigation and thoroughly investigate this case." he continued.
The death of hundreds of Arema FC supporters is certainly a painful blow for the world of Indonesian football.
Not only that, PT LIB and PSSI finally firmly postponed the implementation of Liga 1 2022/2023 for a week.
As a result, the match (match week 6) between Barito Putera vs PSM Makassar which was originally scheduled to be held on Monday, October 3, 2022, was not held. Regarding when it will be held again, we are still waiting for further information.
