As the trend of electric motors is supported by various policies by the government, Indonesia is slowly being flooded with imported products. One of the newest is Goodrich.
The electric motorcycle market in Indonesia is getting busier even though there are no products that are fully developed locally. So far, the majority of electric motors still have to be imported, mostly from Hong Kong, Taiwan, and China.

One of the new electric motor products is Goodrich. Risdosagalav encountered this product during a visit to Diponegoro University, Semarang, Wednesday (25/5/2022).
The electric motor was displayed as part of a research effort from Diponegoro University (Undip). The Undip team is researching the material for the electric motor battery.
The appearance of the motorbike is very similar to the Vespa scooters that are widely marketed in Indonesia. Goodrich made a retro Vespa style with bright colors like metallic red.
The electric motor is equipped with a 100 watt QS Motor dynamo, while a lithium battery with a 60 Volt capacity made by PT Swap Energi Indonesia. Each time you refill, Goodrich takes 5-6 hours.
With that capacity, Goodrich managed to cover a distance of 60 without a refill. Goodrich's maximum speed reaches 50 kilometers per hour.
Marketing Manager of PT BF Goodrich Indonesia, Dian Swasti, said that the electric motorcycle was still imported from Hong Kong. "Here only the leg components are done," he told Risdosagala.
For one unit of an electric motorbike, Goodrich costs around Rp. 17 million. But so far it has not been officially marketed.
"Wait for it to be officially launched in August," said Dian.
Goodrich's arrival cannot be separated from the existence of the Electric Motor Community (Cosmic). Dian is a member of the community. According to Dian, the community is also actively looking for ways to make the marketing of electric motorcycles in Indonesia more crowded. "Like I was also looking, I got this Goodrich from Hong Kong, and they wanted to come in," said Dian.
Goodrich will be assembled locally as it is imported in fully decomposed form (CKD). "Our factory is in Semarang, which will be opened in August," said Dian.
