How to Use a Big Android Phone with One Hand

The average smartphone screen size today is 6.5 inches, or about one hand grip.


There are almost no smartphones with screens below 6 inches from the latest releases.

Not everyone can comfortably use it with one hand. To overcome this problem, there are several ways so that you can comfortably play your cellphone with one hand.

You can take advantage of the One-Hand Mode feature on Android phones . This app was launched by Google for Android 12. 

For those who haven't used Android 12, you can take advantage of the features from Gboard.

  • Go to Settings / Settings.
  • Scroll the screen and look for Gestures / Gestures.
  • Tap on One-Handed Mode.
  • Activate the mode.
  • Then, you will have two options.

  • The second option, via the Navigation Keys.
  • In each option there is information on how you can apply the mode.

Gboard is the default keyboard app on many Android smartphones. Like Android 12, Gboard also has a built-in one-handed mode. 
  • You can find it in the app's Settings under the Layout option in Preferences.
  • This option lets you shorten the length and width of the keyboard for comfortable one-handed use.
  • When opening the keyboard, you have to move its position to the left or right according to the hand you are using.
  • You can also choose to enable or disable it. This option appears on the side of the keyboard.
