iPhone 14 Max Production Reportedly 3 Weeks Late Due to Lockdown in China
5/29/2022
Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo revealed that the iPhone 14 Max is experiencing production delays.
Through his personal Twitter account, Kuo wrote that he agreed with previous reports that said the iPhone 14 Max production was delayed.
Kuo mentioned that production of the iPhone 14 Max was delayed by 3 weeks.
The delay in the production of the iPhone 14 Max was due to the lockdown implemented by the Shanghai government in March-May 2022 to deal with the spread of COVID-19.
Lockdown in Shanghai made the factories that make iPhone components closed and stopped operating.
Despite the production delays, Kuo believes that the production process can still be controlled.
Kuo said Apple suppliers could work overtime to catch up with previous production schedules.
This shows that the launch of the iPhone 14 Max will continue as previously scheduled.
Apple's Main Problem
Kuo wrote that Apple's main problem this year and next is not supply, but demand.
Uncertainty in international conditions hit by war, pandemic, and economic problems will potentially reduce consumer demand for the iPhone 14 series.
Declining demand means Apple must also accept the decline in sales and revenue from the iPhone 14 series line.
Apple is said to have to deal with this situation if it wants sales of the iPhone 14 series to be successful.
Despite all the news about the production of the iPhone 14 Max , it is predicted that Apple will announce 4 models in the iPhone 14 series.
The 4 models include 2 iPhone 14s with 6.1-inch screens and the other 2 with 6.7-inch displays.
Every screen size will get a Pro and non-Pro model with the iPhone 14 Max being the 6.7-inch non-Pro offering.
The Pro model will ditch the notch and sport a pill shaped + punch hole design.
