Telkomsel IoT Smart Manufacturing at Astra Brake System Factory, Can Track Parts in Polybox in Real-time

Telkomsel strengthening its role in accelerating the transformation of cross-industrial sectors in Indonesia through the use of the latest technology.

Today Telkomsel launched the Internet of Things (IoT) Smart Manufacturing service.

This is a digital solution for the manufacturing industry moving towards digitization, through connected sensors and collected data.

A data platform is available as a data collection that is analyzed so that decision making can be faster and more precise covering the entire supply chain such as production, quality, maintenance and warehouse.

integrated end-to-end solution from Telkomsel IoT Smart Manufacturing enables the creation of a sustainable manufacturing industry.

Its efforts are to encourage increased efficiency, productivity, and security in every company's operational processes through accurate data analysis.

According to Telkomsel's Director of Planning & Transformation, Wong Soon Nam, in today's Media Update (9/6), through the IoT Smart Manufacturing service, Telkomsel presents integrated digital solutions in the manufacturing chain.

Present on the same occasion, Head of the Center for Optimizing the Utilization of Industrial Technology and Industrial Services Policy at the Indonesian Ministry of Industry Heru Kustanto said, "The Ministry of Industry will continue to support solution enablers such as Telkomsel who build synergies and collaborate with various parties to realize Indonesia 4.0."

Telkomsel IoT Smart Manufacturing is also claimed to maintain the industry's impact on the environment.

The integrated end-to-end solution from Telkomsel IoT Smart Manufacturing is said to increase company productivity and efficiency, while supporting the creation of an environmentally friendly manufacturing industry.

This is in accordance with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) targets from the Indonesian government and the United Nations, to build an industry with aspects of social inclusion and environmental sustainability.

This integrated solution from Telkomsel IoT Smart Manufacturing can create a sustainable manufacturing industry.

This is because the production of manufactured products is carried out through an integrated process that is more economical so as to minimize the negative impact on the environment.

Sustainable manufacturing is also one of the areas of achievement of the SDGs proclaimed by the United Nations and the government.

IoT Smart Manufacturing is here as a one stop solution to transform the company's supply chain from upstream to downstream (end-to-end supply chain) to become integrated.

It will increase efficiency, productivity and operational security for more adequate business stability.

This IoT digital solution opens opportunities for the enterprise segment to get more complete IoT technology support.

The support starts from consulting, availability of devices and software, integrated systems, data analysis, cyber security, connectivity, to after sales service.

According to Soon Nam, the Telkomsel IoT Smart Manufacturing service provides a more comprehensive solution.

Pasalnya, IoT Smart Manufacturing ini mencakup production control & monitoring, overall equipment efficiency (OEE), quality control using computer vision, traceability, warehouse management,  manufacturing execution system (MES) dengan menyediakan data platform.

In addition, this digital solution can be combined with other Telkomsel IoT solutions.

There are IoT Energy Monitoring solutions, IoT Asset Performance Management for warehousing needs, IoT Manage SD-WAN 5G for cloud-based connectivity, IoT Fleetsight for asset monitoring, and IoT Control Tower for order management.

All of these solutions are aimed at building an increasingly integrated smart industrial ecosystem.

Currently, the Telkomsel IoT digital solution has been implemented by PT. Akebono Brake Astra Indonesia as the largest brake manufacturer (braking system factory) in Indonesia.

At the Astra subsidiary factory, Telkomsel IoT Smart Manufacturing is implemented as a solution to the problems of the warehouse management system and part pulling system, which are still an obstacle for the company, because they are not fully integrated.

If the problem is resolved, it can optimize the efficiency and productivity of the factory.

According to the Technical Director of PT Akebono Brake Astra Indonesia, Daniel Suryananta in the webinar, they need an integrated warehouse management system and part pulling system to speed up work processes and prevent human errors.

This collaboration has helped them through the “Part Pulling Monitoring System” as a business process transaction solution.

"With the support of RFID technology, we can track the parts in the polybox in real-time, instantaneously, and report accurately. Now the work process in our part pulling or part supply has become more effective and productive," concluded Daniel.
