The Ministry of Communication and Information (Kemenkominfo) officially opens registration for the 5th batch of Startup Studia Indonesia (SSI) intensive incubation program. Information on the registration of the program was carried out recently.

SSI Batch 5 registration is open to all Indonesian digital startups that meet the following criteria, have a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) for at least the last 3-6 months, startup founders are fully in operations, have a legal entity PT, and the startup is currently operating. funding stage bootstrap or a maximum of Series-A funding.

Interested startups can register on the SSI official website ( https://startupstudio.id/ ) no later than August 1, 2022.

The Board of Curators of Startup Studio Indonesia Batch 5 Italo Gani said that his party continues to strive to select and sort out startups that are really ready to be guided to a higher level.

One indicator is, wanting to see founders who focus on one problem to be solved, and focus on developing a digital product (both B2B and B2C) to solve it.

"With limited resources in the early stages, we want to see the dedication of the founders in developing their business model and extending user retention," Italo said in a press release, Monday (20/6/2022).

After passing through the presentation and interview process, 15 selected startups will be able to take part in a series of exclusive trainings for 4 months, including the Founder's Camp session, 1-on-1 sessions on product-market-fit with coaches, marketing workshops and user journeys , as well as support technology development ( tech dev ) for 2 months as needed.

The highlight of the Startup Studio Indonesia series of programs was Milestone Day, where the finalists had the opportunity to present their business models and achievements in front of stakeholders the startup industry

Currently, the implementation of Startup Studio Indonesia Batch 4 which is ongoing until July 2022 has also entered the 1-on-1 Coaching session. 

The finalist startups had the opportunity to be directly mentored by facilitators consisting of well-known startup practitioners, such as Dimas Harry Priawan (Co-founder and CEO of Dekoruma), Moses Lo (Co-Founder & CEO of Xendit), Christopher Madiam (Co-founder and President of Sociolla) , Arip Tirta (Co-Founder & President of Evermos), Gibran Huzaifah (Founder & CEO of eFishery), and many more.

The Director General of Applications and Information at the Ministry of Communications and Informatics Semuel Abrijani Pangerapan added that his party was very pleased to see the increasing enthusiasm of startups for the SSI program from year to year.

There are lots of alumni startups from SSI's intensive incubation who have succeeded in achieving product-market fit and developing their business rapidly, after receiving targeted guidance.

"Through this program, we hope to continue to form a digital startup ecosystem that is conducive, sustainable, and supportive, where startup actors have a place to gather and share experiences and best practices to jointly advance the Indonesian economy," said Semuel.

After completing Batch 1-3 and running the current Batch 4, the SSI incubation program in total has fostered 65 startups in Indonesia. This figure is in line with the mission of the Ministry of Communication and Information to be able to deliver 150 Indonesian digital startups to advance to class by 2024, as evidenced by the development of business scale, both in terms of the number of users, income, employment, and funding.
