Apple Will Release iPad Pro M2 Later This Year, Peek Leaked Specs!
6/14/2022
Last week, Apple held the annual WWDC 2022 which introduced a number of the latest software and hardware products, one of which was the iPad Pro M2.
The WWDC 2022 event introduced the second-generation Apple Silicon (M2) chipset and two MacBook devices powered by the chipset.
The M2 chipset , which is the main specification of the iPad Pro M2 , is said to bring interesting improvements in terms of computing and graphics capabilities compared to the previous generation.
Now, reports have emerged that predict that the M2 chipset will be present in the new generation of iPad Pro.
Apple analyst Mark Gurman predicts the latest generation of iPad Pro will be powered by the M2 chipset.
The iPad Pro M2 is believed to be coming at the Apple Event next September or October.
In his latest PowerOn newsletter, Gurman said that the iPad Pro M2 will bring a number of improvements in terms of features and specifications.
The iPad Pro M2 will reportedly support wireless charging.
Then, Apple will also upgrade the camera system on the iPad Pro M2 with better specifications.
Gurman believes that the iPad Pro M2 will carry an 11-inch miniLED screen technology.
At launch, the iPad Pro M2 was equipped with the iPadOS 16 operating system.
This means that iPad Pro M2 users can experience the productivity support features presented in iPadOS 16.
M2 Chipset Specifications
The M2 chipset that will be present in the iPad Pro M2 is predicted to be the same as the M2 chipset in the MacBook Air M2.
At last week's WWDC 2022, Apple explained that the M2 chipset was manufactured with 5nm fabrication.
This chipset carries 20 billion transistors which is 25% more compared to the M1.
Apple M2 carries a configuration of 8-core CPU and 10-core GPU.
Apple M2 has 18% faster computing performance compared to the M1 chipset.
For graphics capabilities, the M2 is claimed to be 35% better than the M1 chip.
Apple also revealed that the Neural Engine in the M2 chipset is 40% faster than the M1 chipset.
The Apple M2 supports up to 24GB LPDDR5 unified memory and has 4x performance cores and 4x efficiency cores.
This chip supports unified memory bandwidth of 100GBps which is 50% faster than the M1 chip.
