Apple officially launched a new generation of MacBook Pro devices at WWDC 2022 on Tuesday morning (7/6).
The launch of this new generation of MacBook Pro is quite surprising because there are no leaks, rumors, or predictions from Apple analysts who reveal the launch of the MacBook Pro M2 .
MacBook Pro M2 is designed as an entry-level with a design similar to the 2020 MacBook Pro 13.
Despite carrying the old design, the new generation MacBook Pro is equipped with the latest Apple M2 CPU.
MacBook Pro M2 Specifications
As already mentioned, the MacBook Pro M2 carries a design and specifications similar to the previous generation.
The new MacBook Pro M2 still retains the notchless screen design and features a touch bar.
Apple embeds the M2 CPU in the 13-inch MacBook Pro for faster graphics processing and less power.
Apple says that the image processing performance on the MacBook Pro M2 is 40% faster than the MacBook Pro M1.
This means that the MacBook Pro M2 also has 40% better gaming performance compared to the MacBook Pro M1.
The M2 chipset in the latest MacBook Pro allows professional users to perform photo or video editing activities more efficiently.
Apple promises the MacBook Pro M2 has 18 hours of battery life .
The M2 chipset also allows the MacBook Pro M2 to support 24GB of RAM and up to 2TB of internal memory.
For connectivity, MacBook Pro M2 is equipped with Wi-Fi 6 and a Thunderbolt port.
Pricing and Availability
Apple priced the MacBook Pro M2 with prices starting at USD 1,299 or around Rp. 18.7 million in the United States.
The 13-inch MacBook Pro is scheduled to go on sale in July 2022 for the United States and select countries.
