RI - Bulgaria Strengthen Cyber Cooperation and Digital Economy

The Indonesian government through the Ministry of Communication and Information (Kemenkominfo) and the Bulgarian Ambassador to Indonesia discussed the development of cooperation related to cyber research and development of the digital sector.
Minister of Communications and Informatics Johnny G. Plate said the move was aimed at strengthening information security in preventing cyber attacks and encouraging the growth of the digital economy.
“This morning I was visited by the Bulgarian Ambassador to Indonesia HE Petar Andonov to discuss the potential for cooperation between the two countries in the digital sector. Including specifically discussing the issue of handling in the field of information security to prevent cyber attacks so that law enforcement in Indonesia and Bulgaria can handle it seriously," said Johnny, after a meeting with the Bulgarian Ambassador to the Republic of Indonesia at the Ministry of Communication and Informatics Office, Central Jakarta, Monday (27/27). /06/2022).
According to Johnny, Indonesia and Bulgaria together hope for a digital space that is healthy and beneficial for the community.
"Therefore, the governments of both countries have agreed not to provide space for cyber attacks. Whether it's malware , phishing , or all types of cyber attacks, including unethical hackers ," said Johnny.
As part of the European Union, Bulgaria has also opened a space for cooperation to increase Indonesia's digital economy growth through the development of digital startups in each country.
“We welcome all cooperation both bilaterally and with Bulgaria as a gateway for the European Union. Indonesia itself has very high digital economic growth, and of course this attracts the interest of the business world and the digital sector from Bulgaria," added Johnny.
In fact, Indonesia has also opened a wide cooperation space while still prioritizing digital space data management so that it can take place well. According to Johnny, this issue is one of the agendas of the G20 Presidency of Indonesia.
"Earlier we also exchanged information on priority agendas related to Indonesia's chairmanship in this year's G20, specifically at the Digital Economy Working Group (DEWG) forum," added Johnny.
